Another 500,000 Hectares Connected as the TerraSense Network Continues to Grow
New conservation team joins the TerraSense network after a single day of training
What if connecting half a million hectares was as simple as one existing pole, two cable ties and a Wi-Fi connection?
That's exactly what happened as another conservation reserve joined the growing TerraSense network, adding 500,000 hectares of connected landscape to an offline-first network that now spans more than 4 million hectares.
The reserve team recently visited TerraSense HQ to learn about the platform, the TerraField app and how the network works. Within just a few hours, they had been trained, their devices configured and their TerraField app installed, leaving with everything they needed to deploy the system themselves.
Before they had even reached home, they were already connected.
As they travelled, their vehicle-mounted Pivot continued sending offline messages and location data through the existing TerraSense network, remaining connected from more than 100 kilometres away. It was a practical demonstration of one of TerraSense's greatest strengths: every new deployment becomes part of a wider, growing network that extends connectivity across remote landscapes.
When it came time to deploy at the reserve, the installation couldn't have been simpler.
Using an existing pole, two cable ties and a single Wi-Fi connection, the reserve team were able to establish their local network without specialist installation crews, expensive infrastructure or lengthy commissioning.
Designed specifically for remote operations, TerraSense enables conservation teams to own their network outright, with no subscription fees, no ongoing data costs and no dependence on mobile coverage. Solar-powered, magnetised devices can be deployed quickly by the teams who use them every day, reducing both cost and complexity while delivering reliable communications and operational visibility.
Every new deployment doesn't just connect another reserve. It strengthens the wider TerraSense network, creating greater resilience and expanding what's possible for every organisation already connected.
Today, the TerraSense network connects more than 4 million hectares, and it's continuing to grow as conservation organisations choose a simpler, more sustainable way to stay connected beyond traditional coverage.
Greater Insight. Less Impact.
